Marwan Abado & Peter Rosmanith
Geographically, the two men live in the western part of the city of Vienna. Their first joint performance though, took place far away from Vienna in the Lebanese capital of Beirut. There, they decided to pack Peter Rosmanith’s percussion trunk and the talking oud of Marwan Abado, and to go on a long musical journey entitled “MARAKEB”(ships).
On their way, they met a Viennese camel, visited Mufti, enjoyed some apple-flavoured water pipe tobacco, listened to the singing sounds of rain and coffee grinders of a Bedouin family longing for an Alpine musical clock – images of their travel across dunes bathed in moonlight and dripping glacier crevices. The two spent some time in a discourse on the number of offbeat rhythms, and in the end, sand and snow mixed to form one inseparable unity.
